This policy explains how Study Pathway Overseas Education Consultant (SMC-Private) Limited (trading as StudyPathway Consultants) handles your personal information. We decide how it is used, so we are responsible for protecting it.

Personal information means anything that identifies you, such as your name, passport details or academic records.

2. What we collect

Depending on the service, we may collect:

• Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, nationality, passport details, phone number, WhatsApp number, email and address.
• Academic and work details: transcripts, certificates, test scores, CV, references and statements.
• Visa and travel details: passport copies, past visas, travel history and application forms.
• Financial details: sponsor information, bank statements and payment records. We never ask for card PINs or online banking passwords.
• Health related documents: medical certificates, only where a university or visa authority requires one.
• Website information: IP address, device, pages visited and cookies.

We ask for sensitive documents only when a university or authority requires them. If you give us details about a parent or sponsor, please make sure they are comfortable with that.

3. How we use it

We use your information to answer your enquiry, recommend courses and universities, prepare and submit applications, support your visa, test and funding plans, take payment, keep records and meet our legal duties. If you agree, we also send you updates and offers.

We do not sell your information. You may choose not to share something, but some details are required by universities and visa offices. If you hold something back, we may not be able to complete that part of your application, and we will tell you which items are essential.

4. Who sees it

Only people who need it: the universities and scholarship bodies you apply to, visa authorities and application centres, test providers, and the service providers that help us run the business, such as cloud storage, messaging, customer management, analytics and payment tools.

Because you are applying abroad, your information will be sent to other countries. Once a university or authority has it, their own privacy policy applies. We choose reputable providers and protect the information we send.

If our business is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Necessary cookies keep the site working and secure. Analytics and advertising cookies, where used, help us understand visits and measure our ads, and are used only with your consent. You can manage cookies in your browser settings or through our cookie banner.

6. Security and how long we keep it

We limit access to staff who need it and store information securely. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach puts you at real risk, we will tell you.

We keep client files and correspondence for 5 years after our service ends, invoices and payment records for as long as tax law requires, and enquiries that do not become clients for 12 months. Marketing contacts are kept until you opt out. After that we delete or anonymise the information.

7. Your rights
